In the CNC Operator simulation, the explorer will be tasked with working on a large CNC vertical milling machine. Explorers will need to interpret and read design drafts, and then program the functionality of the machine. During the simulation, you will need to use a control pendant to program the machine to move around, turn on and off and perform several different cuts of a raw piece of metal, you will also need to work on various tools required to set up an operator CNC machine, like an air gun and vice.
Machining tool operators set up and operate or tend metal-cutting machines designed for repetitive machining work. They are employed by metal products and other manufacturing companies and in machine shops. This unit group also includes workers who etch or chemically mill metal pieces.
With currently 110 existing positions and another 20 in the next three years, now is an ideal time to start thinking about this as a career path. The average annual salary of this position is $55,200. Which is a great annual salary in this province.
